Shawntal M. Smith

Ms. Smith received her B.A. from Creighton University in 1997, and received her Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in 2000. In Law School, she was active in the Black Law Student Association and the International Moot Court Board. Ms. Smith joined the firm in 2009 and concentrates her practice in the area of domestic relations law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith spent several years representing the legal interests of abused and neglected children in the Separate Juvenile Court of Douglas County as an Attorney Guardian ad Litem.

Ms. Smith is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association and American Bar Association, as well as President of the Midlands Bar Association. Ms. Smith serves on the Nebraska Supreme Court's Minority Justice Committee and the Nebraska Minority Corporate Counsel Program Steering Committee. In addition to her service with several noteworthy community boards and organizations, Ms. Smith is a regular panel participant on KETV's Kaleidoscope panel discussion program and is a graduate of Leadership Omaha.
